FileGru respects copyright and responds to notices that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent laws.

1. Filing a takedown notice

If you believe a file hosted on FileGru infringes your copyright, send us a notice containing:

• Your name, organisation and contact details (email required).
• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
• The exact FileGru URL(s) of the infringing file(s).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Send notices through the contact page with the subject "DMCA", or use the Report File button available on every download page.

2. What happens next

Valid notices are processed promptly: the file is removed or disabled and the uploader is notified. Incomplete notices may be rejected until the missing information is provided.

3. Counter-notice

If your file was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice with your contact details, identification of the removed file, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake, and consent to the jurisdiction of your local federal court. If the complainant does not file a court action within 14 business days, the file may be restored.

4. Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material are permanently terminated.
