Terms of use
The rules for using FileGru: retention, acceptable use, subscriptions.
Last updated: July 3, 2026
By using FileGru you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
FileGru lets you upload, store and share files. Feature limits (storage space, maximum file size, retention time, simultaneous uploads) depend on your plan, including the free plan and anonymous guest uploads.
2. File retention
- Guest uploads are kept for 7 days; each download extends the file by another 7 days.
- Free accounts: files are kept for 30 days; each download extends the file by another 30 days.
- Paid plans: files are kept for as long as your subscription is active. If it lapses, files enter a 30-day grace window and are then deleted.
Deleted or expired files cannot be recovered. Keep your own backup of anything important — FileGru is a sharing service, not a backup service.
3. Acceptable use
You may not upload or share content that is illegal, infringes copyright, contains malware, exposes personal data of others, or is sexually abusive material. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules, and we cooperate with lawful requests from authorities. Automated scraping, bulk anonymous uploading to evade limits, and abuse of the referral program (self-referrals, fake accounts) are prohibited.
4. Accounts & subscriptions
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password safe.
- Paid plans renew per the billing interval you chose (monthly, quarterly or yearly) and can be cancelled at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Upgrading replaces your current plan immediately; the new period starts at upgrade time.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
5. Referral program
You earn a recurring commission on payments made by users you referred. Balances can be spent at checkout or withdrawn once the minimum payout is reached. Fraudulent activity forfeits commissions and may terminate the account.
6. Copyright
We respond to copyright complaints as described in our DMCA policy. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.
7. Disclaimer & liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damages; our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
8. Changes
We may change these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
